Biopentin Tablet is used for Numbness and tingling, Pain in neurological disorders, Anemia, Adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial seizures, Nerve damage, Management of postherpetic neuralgia and other conditions.Biopentin Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Biopentin Tablet contains Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin as active ingredients.Biopentin Tablet works by preventing pain-related responses in neuropathic pain and decreasing pain-related responses after peripheral inflammation; works in recovery process of damaged nerve cells.Gabapentin binds with high affinity to the alpha-2-delta-1 subunit of voltage-gated Ca channels and appears to inhibit the action of alpha2delta subunits, thus decreasing the density of presynaptic voltage-gated calcium channels and subsequent release of excitatory neurotransmitters. This mechanism is likely to relieve neuropathic pain and also responsible for the anti-epileptic action of gabapentin.
